Bottle Order
Clients can request sample containers from the laboratory by filling up the bottle request form or you can directly e-mail your project manager to request for bottles and have them fill up the form for you.
Chain of Custody
ASSET Laboratories issues a unique Chain of Custody form that must accompany samples that are sent to our lab for analysis. For convenience, ASSET Laboratories now has an electronic version in Microsoft Excel available for download. Our clients are able to save themselves lots of time by typing and saving most fields of information, then printing the forms in advance of sample collection. This is especially useful for large projects where paperwork can be extensive. Keep in mind that some fields cannot be edited by computer; items requiring handwritten signatures or for Lab Use Only are locked.

Sampling Instructions
Sampling Guidelines
- Always use proper sampling containers, preservatives and provide enough sample for analysis. Click here for a list of proper sampling containers, preservatives and minimum volume of sample per test.
- Samples must be sent to the laboratory before holding time expires. The following are the tests with short holding time: pH - 15 min, Hexavalent Chromium (Aqueous)(EPA7199)- 24 hrs, Nitrate, Nitrite, O-Phosphate, BOD, MBAS, Turbidity, Settleable Solids – 48 hrs. - Aqueous samples for volatiles should be collected on 40 mL VOA vial with zero headspace or bubble if present should not be greater than 5 mm.
- Provide Trip Blank when sending samples for Volatiles analysis. Note: Trip Blanks are billable sample.
- Use coolers that will maintain temperature at 6°C without freezing the samples. Use blue ice packs or ice on double-bagged zip lock bags.
- Fill up a chain of custody (COC). Click here for a copy of chain of custody and instruction on filling up the COC.
Shipping Instructions
There are several ways you can send samples to the laboratory:
- Request for sample pick-up by calling the laboratory at 702-307-2659.
- If you are sampling around the area of the laboratory, you can also drop off samples personally at the laboratory. ASSET Laboratories are located at 3151 W. Post Road, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89118 and 11110 Artesia Blvd., Suite B, Cerritos, CA 90703.
- Send samples to the laboratory using commercial courier like FedEx or OnTrac. Put samples in a cooler that will maintain temperature at £6 °C without freezing the samples. Make sure to use overnight service.

Preservation, Holding Time and Containers
The laboratory conforms to all regulations for holding times and preservations. Below is a quick reference guide for holding times, containers, preservations and mimimum volume required for analysis (Referenced from EPA SW-846, Standard Methods, 40 CFR Part 136).
